When Should You Schedule Your Bridal Boudoir Session?

Ideally, schedule your bridal boudoir session 2–3 months before your wedding, with at least 6 weeks recommended.

This gives you plenty of time to enjoy your session, select your favorite images, and have any custom albums or artwork designed and delivered before the wedding.

What to Wear for Your Bridal Boudoir Shoot

This is where you can have fun with it. Bridal boudoir doesn’t have to mean head-to-toe white lace — think of your wardrobe as a mix of bridal, personal, and editorial.

Start with a few classic pieces like white lingerie, a bodysuit, silk robe, corset, or oversized white button-down. Then add the details that make it bridal: your veil, wedding shoes, jewelry, garter, engagement ring, or even a sentimental heirloom.

And don’t underestimate your veil — paired with something incredibly simple, it can create some of the most beautiful and unmistakably bridal photographs.

You can also bring a non-bridal look you love. Not every outfit has to scream “bride.”

When Should You Gift Your Bridal Boudoir Photos?

The Night Before
A fun way to build a little anticipation before the big day. Have someone deliver it to them the evening before the wedding.

The Morning of the Wedding
Have a bridesmaid, best man, or wedding planner deliver the album while you’re both getting ready. Bonus: your photographer may even be able to capture their reaction.

On Your Honeymoon
Pack it in their suitcase for a surprise they won’t see coming.

After the Wedding
There are already so many gifts and emotions happening on the wedding day. Save this one for afterward and give yourselves something special to look forward to once everything settles down.
